A woman in Galveston County, Texas is on a mission to publicly expose individuals that have been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. The motivation behind the project stems from the death of the woman's daughter in a drunk driving accident in March 2009.

In an effort to highlight the dangers of drunk driving, the woman established a Facebook group on which she calls attention to individuals that have been charged with drunk driving in Galveston County. Every night, the woman sifts through public records provided by area police to find those charged with a drunk driving offense. The woman copies the mug shots of these individuals and posts them on her Facebook page. She even posts the photos of individuals that she personally knows from the community, as well as news stories about drunk driving accidents or deaths.

Some fellow Facebook users have reached out to the woman in attempts to get her to remove certain information, but she remains dedicated to her mission. The Facebook group is receiving mixed responses - some individuals think it's a good idea and others consider it publicly convicting defendants without a fair trial.

In response to the negative comments, the woman argues that she is simply re-posting what is already public record. Any member of the community could log on and view public police records from that area in Texas. However, defendants should be treated as innocent until proven guilty, and the woman is exposing individuals for driving drunk when the fact has yet to be proved in a court of law.

What do you think? Is the Facebook group out of line?
